Personal accounts

Each person must use an individual account and protect access to their email inbox, since that inbox is the means of signing in. Sign-in links and invitation links are personal: they must never be forwarded to a third party.

Creating an account assumes the necessary legal capacity. An account may not be lent, shared or resold.

Registered objects

You may only register objects that you own or co-own, or whose ownership is transferred to you through Patinae. An object's serial number is unique within the service: a number already registered is refused.

Registering an object in Patinae is not a title of ownership, nor an authentication, nor an appraisal. The service keeps a declarative history; it does not certify it.

Ownership and shared access

Grant access only to people you trust. Co-ownership access allows viewing the object, writing to the journal, updating the reference and inviting other co-owners.

A full ownership transfer is final: it replaces the owner, revokes all existing or pending access, and removes the former owner's access. It cannot be undone once accepted. Make sure of the recipient's identity before starting a transfer.

Journal content

Only add content you are entitled to store and share. Unlawful, harmful or infringing content is prohibited, including in a private space.

The technical limits in force (photos per entry, maximum voice-note length, accepted formats and storage quota) are shown in the application and may change.

Security and availability

Patinae applies the technical measures described on the Security page and may suspend access where necessary to protect accounts, content or the service.

The service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Interruptions may occur for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account. Deletion removes the journals and media you solely own. Objects you have already transferred stay with their current owner.
